Georgie Girl: 5 Months
Georgia has such a sweet personality. She is a very happy little girl who loves her Daddy. She'll have a scowl for everyone else, but when Daddy is near she's all smiles. She's already got him wrapped around her little finger, actually she's got Jake too. It's fun watching her interact with Jake. He adores her and she is absolutely in love with him.
This month not only did she start moving, but she starting eating oatmeal too. For weeks we watched her lick her lips and drool as we ate so we decided we'd see what would happen if we offered her oatmeal. She ate it right up with no problems at all. She couldn't get enough. We've only given it to her twice, but soon enough she'll be at the table eating right along with the rest of us.
Georgie's had a bit of a cold this month as well. Its made for a few pretty miserable days... and nights. I think her bottom two teeth are coming in too. I feel so bad for her, she must feel awful. But, for the most part, she's been her happy-go-lucky little self -- runny nose and all.

Fun With Family
Jake has been chasing this ball all over the yard. When he catches up to it he jumps on and goes for a ride. The girls just laugh at him and he's loves their attention!
Georgie & Miranda
(yep, she's totally my mom's mini-me!)
This afternoon we went down and visited G'Gma. It was a good visit, she was happy that we were all there together. We took a picture of all of us together, but it's on Dawn's camera so when I get a copy I'll add it here. Stay tuned...

Birthday BBQ
I invited just a few friends for some incredibly tastey pulled pork sandwiches. Mom and I found a recipe in one of her Southern BBQ cookbooks and it did not disappoint. Everyone commented on just how good it was.
It was a fun, relaxing evening. The weather was perfect so we were able to chat the evening away in the back yard under the stars and party lights. Thanks to our friends (the Wilde's, Jones', Reagan's, Foxy, Bird, Jim & Marissa) for coming and celebrating John's birthday with us.
Shout Hooray!
A lot has happened in the last year of your life. It's all pretty amazing. Here's to another year of new adventures. Thanks for being the best of the best.
We love you,
Kelsi, Jake & Georgie
Happy Birthday to Aunt Megan also.
We love you too.

I'm Hungry!!
And for your viewing enjoyment. She's cute, that sweet baby girl of mine!
Week In Review
Friday- sat next to Jake ALL. DAY. LONG. we're in full potty training mode. Norah came over for a little while. Those two were cute together, they get along so well.
Saturday- John walked the neighborhood in support of Prop. 8 and we met some friends at the Dodgers game. It was a fun evening, even if the Dodgers lost we still saw fantastic fireworks at the end. Thanks to Gramma for being on Potty Patrol and watching Jake. (I forgot my camera, duh!)
Sunday- church in the morning and then an evening visit with G'Gma.
Monday- We met a few friends at the pool for a little 'welcome back' party for Mandy, Maggie & Ryleigh. They were in town visiting for the week. It was great to chat with friends and catch up on each others lives. Jake still won't swim, but he and Kyle had a great time chasing each other and then playing at the playground with Maggie & Ryleigh.
Front- Bella, Ian, Ella, Maggie & Ryleigh
That evening, at Gram's, Georgia decided to pull herself across the room. I don't think that was her intention but the little duck kept getting away from her and before she realized it she was clear across the room. Unfortunately it wasn't a fluke thing, now she's dragging herself across our house as well. Great.
Tuesday- we drove to the airport and picked up my cousin Dawn. She's visiting my mom for a few weeks.
Wednesday- my other cousin Dawn (from my Dad's side) stopped by so her little boy Zach and Jake could play together. They had a great time, as did I catching up with Dawn. It's been far too long!! (And, I'm a totally lamer and forgot to take pictures. What kind of blogger am I?!?!?)
And then last night I was able to go to Book Club for the first time in a long time. We read one of my favorite books, Warriors Don't Cry by Melba Patillo Beals. I wasn't the one who chose the book, Tiffany did, but I suggested she read it over 2 years ago. I'm glad she liked it and wanted to share it with others.
**Update on the Potty Front- its going really well, unless he's busy with friends *sigh!*. Last night he woke up three times to go. We are so proud of him!! Now if he can just take a little time out of running around with friends... I'd be able to say we're finished training...

Another Attempt... {for real this time}
This time we're totally prepared. Our calendar is wide open and there are no vacations in the near future... it's time to get serious. This morning Jake & I made a 'potty chart' for the bathroom, now we're ready to go. And... he's had a fabulous day! He only wet three pair of shorts {he's refusing to wear underwear} and the third pair were while he was sleeping. He's lovin' the whole -flush the toilet, wash your hands, put your sticker on the chart- game, thank goodness! Tonight he went to bed in jammies and undies. I know we'll be waking up to a wet bed but if we're doin' this, we're doing it all the way. He seems ready.Today was good, totally unexpected. Here's hoping tomorrow is the same. {But, I'm sure it'll be a nightmare since today went so well... isn't that the way things go?!?!}

And just for kicks and giggles, here's Jake & Georgie playing trains tonight in their room.

Train Adventures

Jake was is heaven.
Once we got to Union Station we walked over to Olvera Street for lunch, listened to some music, and then caught the train back. It was a fun day and Jake enjoyed the ride.
Tonight we went over to the Reagan's and played "Ticket To Ride". It was a day-o-trains.

Olympics
And what about Bob Costas? Who can forget "another Russian has fallen off the beam. I repeat, another Russian has fallen off the beam"? It's going to be a great two weeks, I can feel it.
