Day with the Spilkers

When I checked Jacob out of school just before lunchtime he looked very concerned, but I didn't want to ruin our surprise so I told him not to worry, we weren't going to the dentist.

Once he got in the car and all three girls were there as well as Daddy, he started to relax a little.

As soon as we were on the freeway he & Georgie were both asking a million questions to figure out where we were going. We didn't even get to the 5 before they both had the mystery day solved and all the "big kids" were cheering.

My dear friend Amy is in town with her family and they invited us to spend the day with them at Disney. It was such a fun day too. The Wilde's were there too and we tried new rides and re-acquainted with "new" friends. It was pretty darn perfect.

The kids~ Norah, Jacob, Georgia, Henry, Josiah, Tommy, Naomi, Alice, Amelia, & Genevieve

It didn't take long for Alice to realize they were all crazy... she was outta there!

1st Tigers Baseball Practice

Today Jacob had his very first Tigers Baseball practice. He's very excited to be playing this year and is looking forward to a great season with Jackson, his best buddy from school, on his team.

We're excited to watch him improve and have fun. He's such a little go-getter. He just loves to be out there and play baseball. I love his attitude about life, wish I had it myself more often. Here we go, Tigers, here we go! Games start next weekend and then life gets really busy!

Twirly Skirt Girls

Once Georgie decides what she wants, she doesn't let down until she gets it. She's a determined little Miss.

A few days ago she decided she had the perfect outfits for the three girls to wear and she wanted me to take pictures of them. We had to wait for laundry to be done, and it wasn't a patient wait, but today -- finally -- every aspect of "the outfit" was clean and Georgia Ann was over-the-moon happy about it.

Except then she had to wait for everyone to wake up from naps and eat and diaper changed and... and... and.. it wasn't looking good. Poor girl was really getting frustrated.

But then the stars aligned. Everyone was dressed. Everyone was happy. And we finally got those pictures she had envisioned in her mind.
I think she was pretty pleased with the final outcome.
Now she's asking for them to wear these same skirts everyday.

I love that she so desperately wanted pictures with her sisters and that they all just loved on each other in them. Sisters. <3 br="">

The Final Gymnastics Class

Georgie's had a lot of fun the last 6 Wednesday's having gymnastics with Norah but today was the final class. She has loved every minute of it and I'm so glad she was able to share this experience with Norah.

While the big sisters did gymnastics, the little brother & sisters played together. They've loved the past 6 weeks too!

Now, onto ballet & tap. Maybe we'll be back to gymnastics at some point over the next year. I know she loved it but there are other things she wants to try...

True Love, part 2

John booked our stay in the Hyatt Orange County, it was about a mile from Disneyland. The kids loved being so close and the LOVED being in a hotel!! This morning once they were all awake we headed off to the park to spend the day.

We had a great Disney day! We spent some time doing some things that we never get to do, like riding the double decker bus and the trolley, we played in Toon Town, and even got to watch the movie, "Lady and the Tramp" in the Lincoln Theater (thanks to being passholders). It was really fun to change things up a bit. I mean, we do love Disneyland, but always doing the same thing gets a little old. Today reminded me of all the things we love about Disney. It was a perfect day!

Alice lead the way...
While John took Jake & Georgie on Star Tours (their new favorite) I took Alice & Naomi to meet Ariel & Cinderella. (Neither girl would talk to Cinderella.)

We ended the night meeting up with my dear friend Kendra (Fisher) Kabel & her family who are here visiting from Colorado. We inteneded to watch the fireworks together but they were canceled due to the wind so instead we rode Mr. Toad's Wild Ride & King Arthur's Carousel and then all walked out of the park together. It was so good to meet her adorable children and see how easily our kids hit it off. It was especially good to see Kendra and visit for just a little while. We chat often on facebook, but seeing her in real life was much needed and much appreciated.

It really has been a great two-day get away! We've had lots of fun and loved this time together as a family!
