Memorial Day

We spent Memorial Day at Gram's enjoying our time with her. The kids spent as much time as humanly possible in the spa and came out completely pruned while Gram and I chatted and got dinner ready. It was a nice afternoon.

Jacob went all the way under all on his own, without encouragement.

Georgie loves playing in the water. I wouldn't be at all surprised if she's swimming before Jacob.

Even Naomi got a little pool time.

They loved playing with Daddy!

By dinner time Daddy had both of his girls asleep on his lap.

Sunday Sickies

The girls and I missed church today, Georgie Girl woke up with a 101 fever and slept most of the day. Poor girl, each time she'd wake up she'd throw up too.

I hate seeing my girl so sad and not feeling well.

While the boys were at church the girls slept the afternoon away...
and I tried to get a few things done while the house was quiet.
I wasn't so successful.
Each time I'd leave the room Naomi would stir, cry a little, want to eat, and then fall back to sleep. Hopefully she's not coming down with anything...

Saturday Sprinkles

Sometimes we just get in the car and go... today was one of those Saturdays. We didn't really have a game plan, but we decided to head south. We ended up driving by Pink's Hot Dogs-- they had a really long line and we had 3 kids so we decided against stopping there for lunch. Instead we drove across town and ended up making a pit stop for these

on our way here.

We ate our cupcakes and then spent the afternoon walking around the temple enjoying the spirit there.

On the way home we stopped in the Valley at La Fogata for dinner.

{John says the way to judge good Mexican food is by the salsa. I'd say he likes La Fogata!}

It was a great Saturday!!

So Long Terrific Tots...

Jacob's class with Ms. Diane & Ms. Linda

It was Jacob's last day of Terrific Tots preschool and even the mere mention of it being the last day brought tears to his eyes. He has loved going to school, meeting new friends, and learning all he has. He's already counting down the days until he gets to start his "new 4 year old school at the new park"... it's going to be a long summer.

Good thing I have plans to keep him busy!

The last day...
pretending to be monsters and chasing the girls

enjoying popsicles with the class...

being silly with Kyle (and Faolan)

He was so upset about it being the last day of school that he wouldn't even say good-bye to Ms. Diane at the end of class. Instead, he hid behind John's legs and started to cry. I asked him if I could take a picture of the two of them together, but even the thought of that just made him cry more. He is such a tender-hearted boy... he hates good-byes.

Once class was over he was still pretty mopey, but we encouraged him to stay and play at the park with Kyle and Georgia for a little while. It didn't take long until his usual happy, smiling self re-appeared. I sure love this boy!

Today also marks 3 weeks since Naomi joined our family. We had an appointment with Renee for check-ups... and we're both doing really well. Naomi is now up to 10.8 lbs (Georgie's birth weight) and continues to sleep most of the day... and night. She seriously is a champion sleeper and I am thoroughly enjoying it!!

Grandma's Visit

After being here a week, Grandma headed home today. It was a fairly quiet week around here, we spent most of the week at home, but Grandma was a big help keeping the big kids entertained and holding Naomi whenever she needed it.

Jacob and Georgia loved having their Grandma here to give them lots of undivided attention-- patiently putting together puzzle after puzzle with them, as well as playing lots and lots of Candyland and Chutes & Ladders... time and time again.

Thanks for coming Judith, your help was very much appreciated!!

To Church We Go...

Naomi Jean made her maiden trip to church today. She sure was cute, dressed matched with Georgie Girl, and got lots of comments about how pretty she is, how much hair she has, and how small she is (she's fooled them!).

Tonight John and I got to sneak out for a little while to attend seminary graduation. It's hard to believe that he's completed his first year of teaching. He's had a good experience with the sophomores and The Book of Mormon, but he's glad the year is over. Most likely he will be teaching again when school starts in the Fall and he will very much enjoy his summer break... and so will we!

Relay For Life

Today was an incredible day (an exhausting one too... but that's expected) we spent the majority of our time at Relay For Life.

Gram chose to walk the Survivor Lap early this morning and we all joined her there to cheer her on & support her at such an emotional and overwhelming time. It was really special and heartwarming to watch her take her lap.

Afterward we stayed and checked out the booth's and games and enjoyed our time there.

In the evening we headed back to take part in the Luminaria ceremony. What a powerful experience that is.

Celebrating Damien

My cousin Roxann's son, Damien, celebrated his 4th birthday today and my kids were in heaven!

They had such a good time sliding down that huge slide and jumping in the bounce house.

Today was John's first day back at work... and I missed him greatly, but thankfully Gramma was there to help.

Even I got to have a little fun...
