Happy Halloween!

{Jacob made this adorable Haunted House at Lunch Bunch last week at the Olsen's. He's been saving it for Halloween. He & Georgie devoured it at lunch today.}

{Georgie all ready for church + her witches hat from Halloween last year, no worries the hat did not go to church with us.}
Happy Halloween!

Trunk-or-Treat

Yo Gabba Gabba!
{Georgia- Toodee, Jacob- Brobee, Naomi- Foofa}

Tonight was our ward Trunk-or-Treat. The kids loved being in their costumes, playing with their friends, hearing scary Halloween stories, seeing all their friends costumes, and trick or treating.

{Kyle (Solider), Jacob (Brobee), Georgie (Toodee), Andrew (Mummy), Thomas (Cowboy), Norah (Snow White), Ethan (Spiderman)}

Gram came with us and brought Skelly & Frank along. (Sad we missed getting a picture of Gram, she was the cutest little clown.) As John passed out candy Skelly & Frank sang for all the kids. Some of the little ones (Georgia included) were afraid to come up & get candy from John, but the bigger kids loved them!!

It was a fun night!

Pre School Party

{Best Friends- Solider & Brobee,
I mean... Kyle & Jacob}
Jacob's class had a very fun Halloween party today. They decorated cookies, did Halloween crafts, had a parade around the park, ate lots & lots of Halloween goodies, and read scary Halloween stories.
He loved it!

When Jake walked into class one of his little friends (Beaumee) said, "Jacob, you're one of Santa's helpers!" She was very excited. He immediately said, "No, I'm {b}Robee!"
It was cute.
{Apparently she doesn't know Gabba.}

Naomi's Day

Early this morning (as we all were cuddled in bed waiting to surprise Daddy when he got home from seminary) Naomi Jean sent her hand flying and smacked me in the eye. Instantly my eye began to water and sting. I couldn't open it, it hurt. But, it was time to get up and get moving so we all surprised Daddy and hopped out of bed to get the day started.
I figured my eye would feel better soon.

As the day wore on my eye continued to hurt and weep. The only relief I could get was closing it. My vision was blurry and I started getting a headache from it.

I took a little nap while Naomi was napping and when I woke up it felt a little better. When she woke up I realized that she can push herself up enough that she's over the crib railing. Time to lift that up.

My eye hurt all day. Well, it isn't really my eye, it's the muscles around the eye. And this seeing blurry stuff is getting frustrating and giving me a headache. If its not better in the morning I'll head to the doctor.
Just before bedtime our little sweet one was fussy as can be. When I picked her up she gave me the biggest smile and snuggle. Just for fun I felt around in her mouth... and her first tooth had popped through!!
Our sweet Naomi Jean got her first tooth today!

Crash

As I sat at my computer this afternoon the screen suddenly went black.
And then it flashed.
And flashed.
And flashed again.

As quickly as possibly I turned off the tower and prayed we didn't have a virus.
I was nervous because yesterday my computer won't recognize my USB cord either.

I called John, he told me to try a few things.
So I did.
To no avail.
But we both came to the conclusion that the flashing was because of the monitor, not the tower.

Later, when he got home from work, he started searching for information on the web. Come to find out our monitor was recalled back in 2006 for this very same problem. Apparently there is a short in one of the soldered connections. Since John has a soldering iron (?) he searched youtube for a 'how to fix it' video... and he found one.

So tonight he took apart our monitor and followed the video and...
it didn't work.

dang!
Looks like its time to get a new monitor.
(a new computer would be nice too, but we'll settle for a monitor)

Banana Bread & Pumpkin Face

We had some gettin-old bananas in the fruit bowl this afternoon so Georgie & I decided to make banana bread. She was a cute little helper.

and while she helped make bread, Jake helped keep Naomi entertained with his pumpkin face he made at school. She loved his attention!

Jack-o-Lanterns

made our jack-o-lanterns tonight.

neither jake or george like cleaning out the innards.

but the definitely liked the finished product,
they were very scary!!

{naomi just liked watching what was going on}

Now... we are ready for Halloween!

Georgie & Maya

Georgie had her first official playdate today. She was in heaven with Maya here. They were really cute together. It's hard to believe they are only a few days apart in age. Georgia is so much bigger, but she has always been off the chart & Maya's a tiny little thang. It was really nice to have a friend here just for George, she needs special days just for her.

Getting Scary

While I finished up Halloween costumes the kids helped Gram put up the decorations. Jake was reacquainted with some old friends and Georgie was seriously shaking in her boots each time she saw them. Happy Halloween!

Karyl's party

Headed down to Corona today for John's cousins daughters 4th birthday. The kids had lots of fun playing with Karyl and her friends. They loved bouncing in the bounce house, painting pumpkins, the pinata, the candy, cupcakes, and cake pops. They were spoiled rotten... and loved every minute of it!
Happy 4th Karyl.

First Tastes

Naomi has been smacking her lips everytime we eat for weeks now so today she had her first taste of 'real food'. We started with oatmeal, at first she was excited, then unsure, and then satisfied.

Not sure when she'll get her next bites, but we're easing into this eating deal... because I remember how messy it's gonna get!

Hair Color model

Had my first appointment today as a Paul Mitchell Hair Color model. I like the color well enough. It's darker than I'm use to and I usually add something with a little highlight too, but they will only do all over color- no high or low lights. Should be fun to see where my hair goes over the next little while. As a hair color model I go in every 6 weeks for new color. I plan to stick as close to my 'natural' color as possible, but if they are testing darker colors I have to do the test and get no say in it. Fun, fun, fun! And the best part... it's free!! And I get free hair care product.

{I really like the free part... now if I could just work free hair cuts into it too it'd be perfect!}

{while Jake took my picture Georgie wanted to be included.}

2010 Lombardi's Trip

We made our annual trip to Lombardi's Ranch today in the pouring rain. It was wet and muddy and we had the place to ourselves... it was perfect! Not long after we got there the rain stopped and by the time we left the sun was out. The kids had a great time running around and playing with their friends! And let me tell you... they were muddddddy!

What a difference a year makes...
