Today was our turn to host Lunch Bunch*. Jacob has been looking forward to having it at his house for a long, long time and today was finally the day. During breakfast this morning I overheard him talking to John and he said, "Today is my best day ever... it's Lunch Bunch!"
Since it's the day before Halloween we decided it would be fun to have a little party and invite the boys to wear their costumes. Some showed up in them, others didn't. But by the time the first one had to go to the bathroom, thus requiring a costume strip down, the rest of them had to go potty too and most the costumes came off.
The two hours flew by as we made ghosts with our handprints {thanks Ali for the idea, adorable! although I forgot to get a picture}, had lunch, ran around the yard chasing each other, played "Pin the Smile on the Pumpkin {again, no pictures}, ate alien cupcakes, and ran around some more.

{funny story about these three pictures. in the first one they are patiently waiting to start pinning their smile on the pumpkin. once we finished the game it was time for alien cupcakes -see the red tongues sticking out at you?- they were very excited about the cupcakes. what they were not so excited about was having georgie near them. the final picture is when they all decided to turn around a face the wall so she couldn't see them. she didn't care, she could still see them... and she got her own cupcake so...}I hope the other boys had a good time, I know Jake did. Although, I forgot to ask him before he went to bed if today really was his best day ever....
*Lunch Bunch= several boys, all the same age {3}, from our church who will start school together in 2011. there are 7 of them currently {the 8th is in boston until early december} and the mom's take turns hosting on friday mornings from 10:30 to 12:30. it's nice... for the last 6 weeks {actually my first hosting was after some moms have hosted more than once} georgie & i get two hours to ourselves to play, run errands, get yogurt, do whatever we want while jacob plays with his friends. it's totally worth it and the kids love it!
