We're In Love

We saw the house and we love it! Now we just pray that it all goes in our favor. As we walked around touring it it was so hard not to start imagining ourselves in it. It was so hard not to make plans for what we would do to the backyard, where we would put our furniture, which room would be each kids...

It's hard not to fall in love with the perfect house.

Our offer is in but it'll be at least another 10 days before we know if it will even be considered.
Wish us luck!!

House Hunting

We left Burbank at 7:30pm yesterday. We had a 3 hour lay over in Phoenix and arrived in Atlanta this morning at 6:10. To say we are tired is an understatement, but there's no rest for the weary. Our real estate agent, LuAnn (who also happens to be the Hickory Flat ward Bishops wife) had a full line-up of houses for us to see today starting at 10:30am.

After a quick stop by the "shed" for John to meet his new boss, Dave, and get some tools to work with this week we were on our way north to Canton.

Once we toured 6 houses we had to hurry to Ben & Lisa's so John could drop me & Alice off and he could head to work.

It's been a busy, fun, and overwhelming day. We're exhausted.

Tomorrow we finally get to see the inside of the house we put the offer on... here's hoping we like it! ;)

Galco's

There's an old soda pop store here in Los Angeles that John has been wanting to go to for years now and since this afternoon was wide open and John & I will be leaving for a week in Atlanta to house hunt tomorrow we decided it'd be a good afternoon adventure!

It was fun to see all the old sodas and candy and remember many of them from when I was little. Wax candy bottles filled with juice, candy cigarettes (seriously cannot believe they sold those... or that I used to choose them!!), Bubble Up! soda, it really was a trip down memory lane.

It was a fun afternoon.

And, it gave Gram some time to catch up on her sleep and prepare to be full-time with the three older kids for the next 7 days.

Game Snacks

Today its our responsibility to bring the team snacks, we went with a blue & orange theme and a little Detroit Tiger insignia on the bag. Inside: blue Gatorade, orange Cuties, and a granola bar. We're cook like that. Georgie Girl helped me put the bags together, she did a great job.

Helping a Sister Out

Sometimes we get by with the a little help from our sis!

Bath Time?

Not sure why it took me until baby #4 to figure out its much easier to put her in the bath than do another load of laundry!

The girl lives in her diaper at home.

Georgie's Trip to Palcerita Nature Center

Georgie got to go on a really cool field trip today to the Placerita Nature Center. They saw some really amazing (& some really gross) animals, learned about Oak trees and the circle of life, hiked through the canyon, and saw some of the original homestead. It was lots of fun to be with her and learn some Santa Clarita history.
(this is Vicky Cunningham, our Bishops wife. So fun to see her there!)

She was totally dressed for hiking, don't you think?!?!

Jacob & Jackson

Jacob has been begging to have Jackson over after school for weeks and today it finally worked for his mom and us. Jacob was so excited! He loves having Jackson over and today did not disappoint.

They played on the Wii, they had a Beyblade contest, they played soccer outside, they played and played and played.

Jacob also had the privilege of bringing home C... the class caterpillar so she got to hang out with the boys and enjoy the afternoon!

We were supposed to meet Jackson's mom, Carea, at baseball practice this afternoon but coach canceled it so.... they just got to play the afternoon away.

Do Our Babies Look Alike?

Was really curious if our babies look anything alike at 17 months. We see similarities in Alice with each of the other kids but we weren't sure so I did a side by side comparison. What do you think?
We put an offer on a house that we've only seen one picture online of today. It's beautiful outside, Ben & Lisa say its in a good neighborhood, and the price is right. Here's hoping we like the inside... and then, assuming we like it, we actually get it!

Keepin' Spring Break Alive!

We had so much fun last week we didn't want it to end so tonight we all met at the bowling alley for a few games and then picnicked at the park and ended the night at Ben & Jerry's Free Scoop Night. Not too shabby for a Tuesday evening.

Announced to the World

We've told our babies and they're excited. Now, to let everyone else know.

Big news for the Meldrum family. After 2 very long (but extremely quick) years we are finally moving. It's bittersweet but as soon as school is out we're relocating to Atlanta! (My brother is more than excited!!)

Spring Break, Day 5~ Olvera Street

When planning this week we thought it'd be fun to ride the Metrolink into Union Station and go to Olvera Street... until we saw the price for tickets on the Metrolink. Then our plans changed... John suggested we drive to North Hollywood and ride the RedLine subway in instead and so that's what we did. The Keil's met us in North Hollywood and we spent the rest of the day exploring. It was such a great day!!

We rode the RedLine, had lunch at Philippe's, walked up & down Olvera Street, watched Naomi dance in the square, stopped at the Angel's Flight Railroad and took a ride to the top, and then rode the RedLine back to North Hollywood. And then, because by that time we were all starving, we had dinner together in Burbank at Wendy's.

What a great way to end Spring Break!!

Spring Break, Day 4~ Huntington Gardens

Today was our annual trip to The Huntington Gardens and I'm so glad it was during Spring Break, because last year without Jacob was just plain weird.

We had a great time running around with our friends, checking out the gardens, and spending time together. Every year there are more kids in our group but every year it seems to just get more & more relaxing.

It's such a beautiful place. I love going there!

(we asked someone there to take a picture for us. apparently he didn't wait for it to focus!)

Spring Break, Day 3

John took today off so we could go to Disneyland... and then last night he looked up the hours of operation for today and found out that Disneyland wasn't an option for annual passholders today anymore. Apparently in the last two weeks they changed their schedules.

So, instead we just got things done around here. Each morning this week we've met with moving companies and spent a serious amount of time trying to figure out how this cross country move is going to happen.

The kids loved having a day at home to play and relax. Late this afternoon we decided to head to Glendale to finally get my ring fixed. It should be ready tomorrow. Thank goodness, I miss it.

After Glendale we drove over to Tito's Tacos for dinner and then Diddy Reise for dessert. It was a night made in heaven!

My ring, Tito's, and ice cream.... heaven.ly.

Spring Break, Day 2~ Beach Day!

For day 2 we headed with our usual crew to the beach for the day. We decided to check out the "Pirate Beach" this time since our kids are a little older. Jake & Georgie loved the zip line. Then we did our usual and let the kids play in the ocean for hours. It was perfect.

Going to the beach is so easy for me. I love it there, the kids love it there (especially when their friends are there!), and it does our soul some good.

Day 2 was heavenly.

Spring Break, Day 1

This morning Heather and the boys met us at our house for a little play time. As the afternoon rolled on we kept talking about lunch but no one complained that they were hungry so we just let them play and play... until nearly 3 o'clock and by then they were all starving! So we hopped in the car, headed to In-N-Out, got lunch, and then went to feed the ducks. We were so happy that Meme & her kids joined us too!

After all that excitement it was almost 5 and I had an errand to run before dinner so we all said our goodbyes and finalized tomorrow's plans and went our separate ways.

The kids & I ran over to the Crazy 8 store at the mall to exchange Easter bathing suits (Jake's is too big, Alice's is too small, and Naomi's is two different sizes. Surprise, surprise Georgie's, the one I was most worried about, fits perfectly!)

While we were there the kids asked if they could play for a little while... they packed in the fun for about 5 minutes and then we were on our way.

It's been a great first day of Spring Break! Tomorrow, to the beach we go!
