Creche Festival

Tonight we headed to Lancaster for the 20th Annual Christmas Creche Festival. It really was beautiful (although my pictures do not show it).

The kids loved seeing the different nativities from all around the world, as well as the homemade ones. The spirit there helped remind all of us that Jesus Christ is why we celebrate Christmas.

The Wilde's met us there, afterward we all went to IHOP for dinner. It was a really fun evening.

It's that time again. We gathered leaves and met at the usual spot with the usual crowd and had lots of fun, just like usual! I love this tradition... (although the older kids are starting to tire of it... sad.)

Angry Space Birds Team Party

Tonight we congratulated the boys on a great season, 10 wins, 2 losses, and said so long to Jake's first season of soccer.

Georgie & Ellie got to be good friends. They're also Sunbeams together at church and have Lunch Bunch together. Georgie really, really likes Ellie. And they are really cute together. They're exact opposites to look at but they have the same fun, happy outlook on life!

Coach Bill

While giving out the awards, Coach Bill asked everyone to guess who the award went to by describing how the boy helped the team succeed. He had really kind and fun things to say about each of them. When he started to describe the team Energizer Bunny all the boys yelled out, "JACOB!" it was hilarious and absolutely a great way to describe our little Bunny Boy!

Jacob had so much fun playing soccer. He's really sad that the season is over and cannot wait until he gets to play again. He learned a lot from Coach Bill, as well as the boys. It's been lots of fun for us to watch him enjoy it so much.

With the awards & trophies the boys also received their Angry Space Bird pendants... thankfully, they all seemed to really like them! :)

The final thing to do, before everyone said goodbye and headed home was to raffle off the remaining portion of the Angry Space Birds banner. Jacob was really, really, really hoping his name would be drawn.... but it was Jack and he was just as excited!

And that was it. The end of soccer. Saturday's are ours to schedule as we please again. Until next year... Georgie's already asking to play so it looks like we'll be giving our Saturdays to AYSO for awhile!

Angry Space Bird pendants

Finally got the courage to cut up the team banner and make each of the boys something special to remember the season. Heather DH gave me the idea to make each boy a pendant, but then I realized that a yellow pendant might as well be a yellow Angry Bird. Hopefully they like them!

Griffith Observatory, Bob's, & Burbank

After the day we had yesterday we all needed to get out of the house and have some fun! We weren't quite sure where we were going but it didn't take long to decide to go to the Griffith Observatory.

Georgie really, really, really wanted her picture taken with this gigantic telescope. I tried to tell her I wouldn't be able to get it in the picture because we were in such a tight space, she didn't care. She loved it!

as a teenager my walls were filled with all things James Dean for a few years. This brought back many memories.

After the observatory we headed to Bob's Big Boy for dinner and the car show (we were hoping to see Jay Leno but we were finished too early).

Then we took a little trip down memory lane and drove by Grandma & Grandpa Great's house on Dorothy and then Aunt Merial & Uncle Don's house on Weddington.

So much time was spent with family at these two homes while I grew up. So many special memories. They will always be special places for me.

It was such a great day! I'm so glad we got out of the house and had some fun, we were all driving each other crazy!
