Apple Pickin'

Today we joined Lisa, Loryn, & baby Noah, Karen, Grandma Mary & the ladies (Juanita & Myrtle) at an apple orchard in Ellijay. It was such a beautiful scene up there, everywhere you looked it was gorgeous. And the apples were delicious!!

Noah's Blessing

Since Gram is in town, along with Lisa's mom Karen, Ben and Lisa scheduled Noah's blessing for today. He was such a handsome little guy and he received such a beautiful blessing from his Daddy.

Christmas with Gram

Gramma decided to head to Ben & Lisa's this weekend to avoid the Christmas crush at the airport and since she'll be home after we leave for Papa & Grandma's house we decided to have Christmas before she leaves.

As soon as Jacob got home from school he was ready... they all were. Too bad I made them wait for Daddy to get home too. (But only because he was already on his way)
looking at it...
giving her a kiss... through the box
and finally loving on her new baby...

They all loved everything Gram got them! She always has been the best gift giver. The girls love, love, love their new boots, Jacob LOVES his Super Mario Brothers Chess game (the same one he asked Santa for!), and Alice walks all over with that sweet baby with bright blue eyes, blond hair and two bottom teeth. It was a great Christmas with Gram. We're glad we were able to celebrate with her before she leaves, but we'll sure miss her on Christmas!

As soon as the gift giving was finished, we all hopped in the car to get Gram to the airport and John heade off on his own for another appointment.
On the way home from the airport the kids & I stopped at In-N-Out for dinner. We love being so close to the runway!

Homemade Pasta

Gram & I were in the kitchen kneading all. day. long.
The end result is pretty impressive. 12 pounds of homemade pasta. (this picture is only a quarter of all we made)

And now I smell like I spent the day in Gilroy. ymmmm....

Griffith Observatory, Bob's, & Burbank

After the day we had yesterday we all needed to get out of the house and have some fun! We weren't quite sure where we were going but it didn't take long to decide to go to the Griffith Observatory.
Jacob led the way...
Georgie really, really, really wanted her picture taken with this gigantic telescope. I tried to tell her I wouldn't be able to get it in the picture because we were in such a tight space, she didn't care. She loved it!
as a teenager my walls were filled with all things James Dean for a few years. This brought back many memories.

After the observatory we headed to Bob's Big Boy for dinner and the car show (we were hoping to see Jay Leno but we were finished too early).

Then we took a little trip down memory lane and drove by Grandma & Grandpa Great's house on Dorothy and then Aunt Merial & Uncle Don's house on Weddington.

Aunt Merial & Uncle Don's house
So much time was spent with family at these two homes while I grew up. So many special memories. They will always be special places for me.

It was such a great day! I'm so glad we got out of the house and had some fun, we were all driving each other crazy!
