Afternoon with Friends

This afternoon we got a much needed and much wanted visit from Norah and Tommy. The kids played for a while, had ice cream cones, and then took a dip in the spa.

And Meme & I got to sit around and visit.
It was a pretty fantastic afternoon!

Pretty Toes

For our FHE activity tonight Georgie wanted to paint her toes. She also wanted Naomi's toes to be painted... as well as my toes, Gramma's toes, John's and Jacob's.

She chose purple for herself.
Naomi had no choice. Georgie chose sparkley toes for her.

{but she wouldn't stop long enough to get a picture}
And Jacob chose blue.
John was less than thrilled.

Guess that's what happens when you've got sisters.

Easter Sunday

We had a really nice relaxing Easter Sunday. The kids woke up & discovered what the Easter Bunny left for them and then we got ready for church.

Once we got home they were finally allowed to dig in and see what was there.

Then we headed outside to take some Easter pictures in their "fancy" Easter clothes.

{they were very cooperative. this the best picture of the three of them i could get... and look at jacob. he's totally messing around!}

{the girls}

{the boy}

{individuals}

And... finally it was time to see if the Easter Bunny left any eggs in the yard. Jacob & Georgie were very excited that he did! Even Naomi got to hunt a few eggs for herself.

We counted all the eggs in the baskets and realized there was one missing so Jake and Georgie had to look really hard for it.

Jacob found it.
And she was not happy!
Georgie's loot,
Jacob's,
and Naomi's.
I'd say it was a success!

In all the celebration of Easter it's important that we remember the true meaning-- our Savior, Jesus Christ. Because of Him we can be forgiven of our sins. Because of Him we can overcome death and be resurrected. Because of Him we can return to live, as families, forever with our Father in Heaven.
How grateful we are.

Getting Ready for the Bunny

After dinner tonight we finally got around to dyeing those Easter eggs that Jake's been asking to do all week. As we were getting everything ready he was so anxious and could not stop asking when we were going to be ready to go.

Surveying the process

The end result

Calling it good... and ready for the Easter Bunny!

{some body really wanted those eggs... and some body else was determined not to let her get them!}

{sorry my pictures are blurry, for some reason
my camera has decided not to focus every
once in awhile and i'm not sure why.
if you have a suggestion, i'm listening.}

She's a walking!

Naomi's been taking a few steps here & there for a couple of weeks now, but today she stood up and walked across the living room over and over again.

It's official... the girl is walking!

And now she's exploring everywhere!

Sneaky Little Girl

Naomi is getting to be so quick and so sneaky! She figured out about a week ago that she can climb up onto the kitchen stool and get to things she wants... just like the big kids. We've watched her do it several times and have taken her off with a firm 'no', but today I was busy with something else and when I walked into the kitchen this is what I found.

She was so proud of herself getting her own cheerios!
Little stinker!

It scares me to death that she's going to fall off that step and crack her head open on the floor. She really isn't all that stable when standing alone yet.

Crazy girl!!

Oh... and on Sunday night she took 5 steps... she's on her way!!

First Practice for the White Sox

Jake had his first t-ball practice today and in typical t-ball fashion... it was pure comedy! He had a great time and looked forward to it all day long. He could hardly stand that last half hour at home before it was time to leave... he had everything ready and was so anxious to get there!

They started off meeting Coach Bobby and then got right to warming up.
They stretched,

did some jumping jacks,

and ran a sprint.

Then they practiced running bases... starting with first.
After that it was time to do a little field/batting practice.
Everyone got ready.

{notice the ball in the middle of the field with NO ONE making an effort to get it!}
Jacob took his turn at batting and did a pretty good job. He hit the first ball straight to short stop. (Although we do need to work on his stance and hand position on the bat)

And in the field he made a great stop at second base... but his throw to first was a little lacking and he nearly hit the kid standing next to him. (Gotta work on that too!)

He is going to have a great year on the White Sox! Coach Bobby seems really kick-back and ready to teach the boys and have some fun. (Coaching 3-5 year olds has got to take some serious patience!) Jacob cannot wait until next Wednesday to do it all over again!!
