Georgie's Thanksgiving Program

This morning we got to go watch Georgie and all the other kindergartens at her school in the Thanksgiving Day Program. Georgie was adorable as a little Indian girl.
She sang her little heart out up there. Her favorite teacher, Mr. Boggs, was the narrator of the program and I can totally see why she loves his music classes. He was lots of fun!

At the end he had all the kids sing "You Are My Sunshine" to all the parents, the second verse he had the parents sing to the kids. I'm pretty sure there were tears in most of our eyes. It was so sweet.

Ali's Birthday Party

After the big kids soccer games everyone came back to our house for pizza and cake. Alice loved having everyone there for "my BIRTHDAY!" (although I was a little concerned since she fell asleep about 10 minutes before everyone was supposed to be there!)

We loved having "the cousins" and the Bragg's over to celebrate our girl.

Happy 2nd Birthday, sweet baby girl.

Last Soccer Games of the Season

Well, we made it! Today was the last soccer games of the season! The kids have loved playing and we've loved cheering them on.

Georgie learned so much and had a great time getting to know the other kids on her team and playing against some of her friends from school. She certainly isn't a soccer super-star but she did score one goal this season and was always able to follow the ball.

Jacob turned out to be the super-star on his team. He had a really impressive season. It was really fun to watch his understanding of strategy and field placement blossom as the weeks went on. That kid really thinks things through. Instead of running to the ball he would anticipate where the ball was going and run there. I loved watching him run around the crowd and beat everyone to the ball. In today's game the other team had two kids specifically assigned to stick to Jacob. He had so much fun with that. He'd run crazy patterns around the other kids just so the "sticky" kids had to chase him. It was hilarious!!
 Benjamin & Jacob

Both Jake & Georgie had really great coaches this season. Georgie's coach, Chris, was so good with her -- even the week she refused to go on the field because "the cousins" were there to watch her. (I was so frustrated with her!!) Keith, Jacob's coach, wasn't all that familiar with soccer himself, but he quickly learned and the kids had a great time.

We all loved that both Jake & Georgie had friends from our new ward on their teams. Georgie had Max A. and Jacob had Benjamin O. and Dylan A. (poor Dylan though, a few weeks ago after soccer we were on the playground playing with them and he fell off the monkey bars and broke his arm. It was an awful sight! That poor kid, but he's such a good sport and teammate, he still came to every game for the rest of the season!)

Now that soccer is over we'll have our Saturday's back... but I think I might miss this a little bit. It's been nice getting to know people from the community and in our ward. Today it was fun to have "the cousins" there to cheer them on as well!

Wonder what the kids will want to do next.... basketball started last weekend, but neither are interested in that. I guess we're taking the winter off and we'll see what the spring brings...

Happy 2nd Birthday Alice Kay!

Alice Kay, 2 years & the monkey
Our baby is two today. And honestly, I cannot believe she's only two. She fits so perfectly into our family, like she's been here all along with all the rest of them. It's hard to believe she's really only been with us for two years.

She is so much stinkin' fun. She has a little temper and you better watch out because she's always the first one to have fists flying, she has a heart of gold, and the smile to light up an entire room. She loves to eat and is very adventurous with her palate. She loves wearing skirts, especially if they twirl (we thank Georgie & Na for influencing this fashion decision.). She is still nursing and every time she says, "momma's milk go bu-bye?" then smiles and says, "nooooooo". She desperately wants to sleep in Naomi's bed every night but falls off each time we try. She no longer wants to wear panties. She loves her brother dearly. And adores those two big sisters of hers. She makes sure that everyone knows, "no, I baby". She's talking up a storm and holds real conversations. She laughs at things she finds funny, even if no one else is laughing. She loves to watch Trotro. She loves to play games on our iphones. She's really smart. She loves to dance and its the cutest thing ever with her little pointed pistols. She loves to play soccer with the big kids. And do whatever it is they're all doing. She does not like to be left out. She thinks its her right to call everyone else, "cry baby". She has the most beautiful blue eyes, but if someone calls attention to them she hides her face. She's got wild and crazy, curly blonde hair. She loves to cuddle and hates when Daddy leaves for work every day. But when he comes home... it's a joyous reunion. She's got everyone, but especially Jacob, wrapped around her little finger. He's often heard saying, "Alice, you are the cutest baby in the whole wide world. Mom, isn't she the cutest baby you've ever seen? She's the cutest baby I've ever seen". Smitten, that boy. (Don't worry, she punches him too. And he gets mad at her.) She loves to sit in her cow rocking chair (from Aunt Alice) downstairs and watch movies all by herself, her favorites are: The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, Disney's Three Little Pigs, and Green Eggs & Ham. She just rotates those three disks for however long she can stay down there.

We love our Ali Kay, our Alice Palace, our Ali Girl, our Alice from Dallas. She makes life more fun. She makes us all happy. We're so glad she's part of our family.

Happy 2nd Birthday Alice Kay.
We LOVE you!!
